Onego lake ice inspection. Held 26.01.2014 from noon till 4 pm by Alexey Korolko and Dmitriy Bubnovikov.

Wind - NW 4 m/s, visibility not less than 10 nautical miles.

Inspected area : bay oF Petrozavodsk and part of open lake from Ivanovski Island to Monak lighthouse. Inspected distance : 53 km.

Results : flat solid ice 20-25 cm all over the inspected area. Measured in the holes made with an axe. On the passed distance it was found about 5 frozen compact cracks easily passable. No hummocks except abt 100 metres to Monak. Few snow on the ice. Easy and very fast for the backstay, hard for tacking. The same conditions observed within the distance of sight. No open water noticed at all.
